If you are fixing just a few loose screw holes for something that has multiple hinges like a door you can put a wedge underneath it to support it while you unscrew the loose hinge and fix the stripped holes. Once the wood is the right size glue the inward facing side and then press it into place. If the wood filler and dowels do not fix the broken door hinge problem switch the hinge screws with screws that are the same diameter and 2 inches or 3 inches in length as the hinge screws may. This may include covering over any wood stains left by the hinge.

Open the door wide and insert a wedge under the bottom outside corner to level it.
